"Finding the human, finding the story"
Lecture and Masterclass

We all approach our own truth differently. What is important is that we HAVE truth in our art. This is what captivates an audience and encourages them to fall into the mystic world we are creating for them. Professional actors do this all the time. Opera singers must as well in order to be competitive. The goal of this class is to find the individual performer's connection to the music, their heart, and to share that with the audience. Whether the audience be an auditorium of five thousand or two casting directors in a small rehearsal hall.

Today's opera world is interested in a performer's ability to convey a story, to show truth in the human experience so that the listener can put their own heart into the aria and be transported with you. The "park and bark"  is no longer a viable option as audiences are conditioned by American Musical Theatre to see more than excellent technique. Today's up and coming vocalists should be prepared.
